Alight, Inc., a leading cloud-based human capital technology and services provider, is proud to announce its participation as a presenting sponsor in the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City's (NAMI-NYC) Workplace Mental Health Collaborative for 2024.

NAMI-NYC is New York City’s leading mental health organization and one of the largest NAMI affiliates, dedicated to enhancing the lives of people affected by mental illness and their families. The Workplace Mental Health Collaborative, now in its third year, serves as a pivotal platform connecting and supporting employers committed to promoting mental health among their employees. This initiative aligns with the recently released U.S. Surgeon General’s Framework for Workplace Mental Health and Well-Being, underscoring the growing national urgency regarding mental health in the workplace.

"At Alight, we recognize that mental health is just as essential as physical health, and we're committed to fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes both. That's why we're proud to be a presenting sponsor for NAMI-NYC’s Workplace Mental Health Collaborative,” said Michael Rogers, CHRO at Alight. “Through our ongoing collaboration with NAMI-NYC we aim to create a supportive environment where employees can thrive both personally and professionally and help to redefine the future of employee wellbeing.”

The Collaborative is structured around two main components:

  • Monthly Steering Committee Meetings: These meetings bring together leaders from various domains such as Human Resources, Benefits, Diversity Equity & Inclusion, Wellness, Medical, and Employee Resource Groups, fostering the exchange of best practices and the implementation of practical solutions to support employee mental health.
  • Beyond Burnout Training Series: This five-part training series focuses on imparting employees with a skill-based model of resilience. An external evaluation conducted by NYU demonstrated a significant increase in knowledge and attitudes concerning resilience and workplace mental health, as well as the use of coping strategies and experiences of positive emotions among participating employees.

“Our Workplace Mental Health Collaborative has been so successful the past two years, we’re expanding the program to any industry that wants to participate,” said Matt Kudish, CEO of NAMI-NYC. “We are proud of this innovative Collaborative, where influential companies open up the conversation to reduce stigma, build programs to support employee mental health, and give back to their local communities.”

“Alight's decision to join NAMI-NYC's Workplace Mental Health Collaborative as a presenting sponsor represents a significant milestone in the growing relationship between Alight and NAMI-NYC and underscores our own commitment as a company to prioritize mental health in the workplace and foster a supportive and inclusive work environment,” said Xan Daniels, Vice President of Inclusion and Diversity at Alight.

In addition to Alight serving as a presenting sponsor for NAMI-NYC’s Workplace Mental Health Collaborative, Alight’s Xan Daniels also serves as the Vice President on the board of directors for the NAMI Illinois chapter.
